Mastering is the technical and creative process of balancing, equalizing and enhancing the final mixes so that the finished product will have achieved the maximum musicality possible. Mastering is the last step in the production chain, from which a master is produced. This master becomes the template for the manufactured commercial release.
Working in a familiar, controlled listening environment Stonehouse Sound can offer a new perspective. An educated, fresh, focused listening perspective is an invaluable asset to your music project.
How long does it take to master? This depends largely on what needs to be done. Assembling premastered material can be pretty quick. Full mastering jobs with touchups on EQ, compression and limiting, can take longer. Stonehouse Sound can work on a flat rate, an hourly rate, or on a per-track basis.
After the mastering is complete, we provide you with a reference CD for your approval. If changes are required, they are performed and the final master (CDR or DDP image) is produced including a complete PQ code list and a guaranteed CD master. In the unlikely event that the manufacturing plant finds fault in the master, Stonehouse Sound will provide a new master at no charge.
